Metrics details. This paper describes the results of an exploratory qualitative study on Muslim adolescents' views on sexuality in the Netherlands. Data were gathered from an Internet forum on which 44 Muslim and 33 non-Muslim adolescents discussed sexuality as it relates to Islam. These discussions were subsequently analyzed for content using Nvivo 2. Our analysis revealed several issues that are relevant for the design of future sex education programs targeting Muslim youth. Apart from some expected outcomes regarding, for example, taboos on sexuality, sex outside marriage, abortion, homosexuality and conservative gender roles, our analyses showed that in cases of disputes 1 discussions were polarized, 2 opponents used the same Qur'anic passages to support their views, and 3 the authority of an Imam was questioned when his interpretation of Qur'anic passages was not in line with the views of participants.
Pre-Marital Sex Among Muslim Youth
Which religions have the most premarital sex? - The Boston Globe
When it was her turn, the woman, who said she was from a British Muslim family of Arab origin, knelt down to speak so that we were at eye level. How do I get over the fear that God will hate me if I have sex before marriage? I hear this a lot. My email inbox is jammed with messages from women who, like me, are of Middle Eastern and Muslim descent. Countless articles have been written on the sexual frustration of men in the Middle East — from the jihadi supposedly drawn to armed militancy by the promise of virgins in the afterlife to ordinary Arab men unable to afford marriage. I am not a cleric, and I am not here to argue over what religion says about sex. I am an Egyptian, Muslim woman who waited until she was 29 to have sex and has been making up for lost time.
Sex Talk for Muslim Women
According to reports, most Americans are engaging in sex before marriage although major religions prohibit premarital sex. Will our youth listen if we show them the scriptures on the topic of sex before marriage? Should we just change with the changing times, overlooking the scriptural guidelines on this issue? What does God want us, the religious leaders, to do?
Zina belongs to the category of hudud offenses sing. Several verses of the Quran prohibit zina , including which says it should be punished with lashes, and so is endorsed by the hadith in the case where both parties were single and have never been married earlier in their lives. Zina must be proved by testimony of four Muslim eyewitnesses to the actual act of penetration, or a confession repeated four times and not retracted later.
